A child's head by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) is believed to be Rubens first child, Clara Serena, who died in 1623 at the age of 12. Rubenswas a great creative genius who also possessed every phisical and psychological attribute for happines and public success: good health, good looks, good intellect, abundant energy, and a clear head for business. He was a keen observer of the political scene and an active participant of his country, the Netherlands, during a struggle for independence from Spain which began 10 years before he was born and did not end untill eight years after his death.
